Born in 1949, Alessandro Nocentini continues to live and work in the city of his birth, Florence, Italy. Since 1973, he has been exhibiting his work and has received widespread praise from the international art world.

A second-generation engraver, Nocentini is considered by many to be one of Italy’s most accomplished etchers, receiving rave reviews from both the critics and public alike.  Nocentini derives his inspiration from the landscapes of his native country.  His graphics are individually water-colored after pressing resulting in a lyrical effect of remarkable intensity, beauty and vitality.  His subjects are drawn from nature and hold an organic quality that is the foundational strength of all his works.
